Emotional

I am very emotional today. With the shooting at Fort Hood yesterday - just seemed to bring home that my oldest boy is going to war in just a few short weeks. Kevin and Chase keep telling me - "He's on a ship he'll be fine" - that doesn't calm my nerves - especially when you see things like Fort Hood. I am trying to be strong because I know there is absolutely nothing I can do but hope an pray. God please take care of my baby.

I really need to work on this more- My goal is to get my new computer set up (once I get a desk) and get the scanner attached and start scanning pix and things. I need to learn how to do this better so I can share info.

WALKING

I have starting walking. I started maybe a little over a month ago - off and on. The last 3 weeks or so I have been pretty faithful going in the mornings before work. Beautiful time of the day. I was averaging a mile or so a day. This weekend I increased my distance - kind of by accident. Sunday I just started walking and did not stop - I walked maybe 2 1/2 miles. So I thought- hmm I can do this. Monday I walked a distance of 4 miles = 1 1/2 hours. I did it again Tuesday, Wednesday and today. I am so proud of myself - but I am so sore. My shins are very sore - Yes big sister I did stretch - before during and after I walk. I find stretching during the walk makes your body feel better and can keep going. Tomorrow I go into work earlier so I won't have the same amount of time to walk - but that's OK, I will make it up doing something else - or walking at night with my family. Walking - it's a good thing.

Sisters by chance, Friends by Choice

My sister. She is my friend. She is extremely talented. She is extremely busy. She has a big heart. She makes me mad. She makes me happy. I show everybody I know her blog, to show off some of her many talents. She fixed my slideshow - yeah! She has got me motivated to get off my butt. She has helped make me the person that I am. She has helped make me the mother that I am. Watching her kids helped me not to be sooo scared when I became a mom.

Our Vacation

Meet J.D.

Did I tell you we got a new puppy? His name is J.D. (short for Jack Daniel). He is a rat terrier. He is so cute. He is 4 months old. We watched Riley on Saturday and they were so cute together.

VFA-131 Wildcats

Scott has received his orders and he is going to Oceana, VA. This is basicly Virginia Beach. I have to save some money so we can go back there sometime in the next 3 years. He will be assigned to Strike Fighter Squadron ONE THREE ONE [VFA-131] "Wildcats". Google VFA-131 for more information.

Cruise

I will post the pictures of our cruise later - the dog chewed the internet cable and I cannot get online at home. It was so much fun - everyone needs to try it at least once in their lifetime.

DETAILS, DETAILS, DETAILS

We are leaving on the morning the the 18th stopping in Vegas for 1 night then on to LA. Our Cruise leaves Long Beach on April 20 at 5:30 pm. We arrive at Catalina Island @ 7:30 am on the 21st. We are going on a Snorkeling excursion - CATALINA SNORKELING BY BOAT . We leave Catalina @ 4:30 pm. Arrive at Ensenda @ 9:00 am - we are doing a JEEP ADVENTURE TOUR and shopping in Ensenda, and whatever else we can find to do. Set sail again at 10:00 pm. On the 23rd (Chase's B-day so hopefully we found something awesome for him in Mexico) we have a fun day at sea. (I won't get sea sick, I won't get sea sick, I won't get sea sick)) and we arrive back in Long Beach at 8:00 am. We bought a smaller camera that we can take with us on the excursions without having to worry about the big camera. I shall post pictures as soon as I can. :)

Only 10 more days until our vacation. I am so excited. We are going on a 4 day cruise. :)

We had to put Eddie down today. I am so sad. I will miss him so much. Eddie was the best dog. He loved to play catch. He loved to ride on the four wheelers. He loved to go camping. He loved me. Eddie I love you and I will miss you.

Well it has been almost 6 months since Scott left for the Navy. I have seen him twice since he left. 2 months after he left - when we went to Chicago. And 2 months after that when he came home for Christmas. Well another 2 months has gone by - I think it is time to see him again. Unfortunately I cannot. I have been very emotional the last few days, I have tried not to think about it, but....... I went to the store yesterday and there were kits out to color Easter eggs. I don't get to color eggs with Scotty this year :( . I really enjoy spending this time with the boys even though they are grown up now, it is still fun. Chase and I will continue the tradition, maybe we can talk Kevin into joining us this year.

Valarientines Weekend

HAPPY VALARIENTINE DAY!!! I call it this because my birthday is tomorrow, so I just combine the 2 days. So the whole weekend is mine. If I had my way I would get the whole month, but Kevin says no. So I guess I will have to share the rest of the month with everyone else. :) xoxoxox.

December: Christmas - I was so excited for Christmas to come Scott came home for two weeks. He looked so good, so skinny. Same old Scott...sleeping all day, awake all night. Scott is currently stationed in Pensacola Florida. He is suppose to be attending school there but the are in a kind of hiatus do to past hurricanes. So he will not start school until August????? He went pack to Florida on New Years day. I miss my Scotty.

Well it has been an extremely long time since I have been on here - I guess I should have my sister teach me how to do this cool like hers.

Anyway since my last post..........

October: The 3 remaining Murph's and Eddie went deer hunting - no luck on getting deer, but we seen alot of Moose.

We (Kevin, Chase, Laura and I) went to Chicago to see Scott graduate from boot camp. It was fun and emotional. We went to the Navy pier on Friday after graduation. Saturday we went to Six Flags. Very packed. We took another Seaman (Jackson)with us because he did not have any family come. We had a lady and her daughter offer the two Navy boys a free ticket to get in. They also had someone offer to pay for their food once inside. It gave me such a warm since of pride. On Sunday we drove to Wisconsin and went to the Jelly Belly Factory, then we went ond got ice cream. Later that night we drove around and went to Lake Michigan and played on the beach in dark. It was fun until we had to get Scott back to the base. I cried so hard. I know this is a good move for him but it does not make it any easier.
